Genome-wide identification and analysis of class III peroxidases in Betula pendula

Abstract Background Class III peroxidases (POD) proteins are widely present in the plant kingdom that involved a broad range of physiological processes including stress responses and lignin polymerization throughout life cycle. At present, POD genes have been studied Arabidopsis , rice, poplar, maize Chinese pear, but there no reports on identification function gene family Betula pendula. Results We identified 90 nonredundant pendula . (designated BpPODs ). According to phylogenetic relationships, these were classified into 12 groups. The distributed different numbers 14 chromosomes, some located sequentially tandem chromosomes. In addition, we analyzed conserved domains BpPOD found they contain highly motifs. also investigated their expression patterns tissues, results showed might play an important role xylem, leaf, root flower.
